Water slowly flows by as I sit on a root stool, lovingly offered to me by an old grandmother pine curving toward the little stream. Light dappling through the spaces of leaves as they gather each other’s green close. Soft foggy words start to form and land in my mind as it stills.
I bathe in this pause. Absorbing the earth into my bones, muscle and skin. Gaia whispers, “humans move to fast, you’ve forgotten my slow easy pace.”
If we can just surrender to her daily lessons, if only for a blink of a moment, we would know all the things she wants us to know.
She is giving her sweet delights to us all the time.
Can’t we see?
Look all around, for beauty’s balance are in the movements we dare to open our eyes to.
