Can you imagine if every human facing a scary diagnosis felt unconditionally loved, unwaveringly supported, and steadfastly held? Would they be inspired to step forward with grace and the highest love, moved to offer the same for others? If they were empowered with tools to help themselves heal, to remain clear, to tune in to their innermost wisdom for guidance, would these courageous humans stand tall on the other side of dis-ease, holding a torch of hope and health for thousands of others?
Two years ago this month I received a breast cancer diagnosis that nearly knocked the wind out of me. That very same afternoon I was surrounded by angels in human forms…rubbing my feet and shoulders with essential oils, wrapping their arms around me, filling my belly with handmade nourishing foods, and offering their love and support in every way they knew how. A tribe of radiant warriors reflected back the beauty and strength I knew resided in my very own heart.
That day I was invited to step into my power in a way I had only dreamed of before. It was about time to start loving and nurturing myself like my life depended on it. Indeed it did.
Two years after receiving my diagnosis, a mighty community of hearts came together to launch a grass roots movement called Radiant Warriors Foundation. Our mission is to gift women, who are currently healing breast cancer, a carefully curated collection of goods that promote self-love and care, and to connect them to a community of healing professionals and practices that elevate physical and emotional wellness.
Artists, teachers, doctors, therapists, businesswomen, environmental engineers, herbalists, nutritionists joined the circle to dream up the possibilities. The wellness packages were created as an invitation to be seen, known, loved, and part of a nurturing community. Within each package, recipients will find Practice You- A Journal by our beloved Elena Brower, essential oils, therapeutic body rolling balls, The Moon Deck, a Mala Making kit, and a handmade bracelet.
In Mark Nepo’s book, Things That Join the Sea and the Sky, he writes “Ultimately, nobility is the moment of grace, however fleeting, when nothing remains between our soul and the rest of life. Everyone longs for this exquisite rawness, though we fear being this naked. Yet after the shock of being so vulnerable, we’re empowered by our sensitivity to be of some use.” Throughout this journey of learning to heal, clear, nurture and release the fear, I knew it was my dharma to pay this grace forward. This generosity and pure love that was being revealed to me time and time again, was a reminder that we all possess these qualities and desire to serve. Furthermore, when we are called upon to elevate the health, well-being, and spirit of others, we amplify our own vibration. A direct effect of this is a reverberation which has the potential to illuminate the good in all who surround us.
