When we harness our inner sensing abilities and marry them to our curiosity, we engage in a practice of deep listening to the body. We carry a wealth of unlocked potential within our bodies. In many ways, we have lost contact with important parts of ourselves. We are awakening to practices in order to recognize who and what we truly are. Many of these practices have centered around the mind. These understandings are key. However, it is crucial that we develop our inner sensing abilities so that we can access the full potential of what this Sacred Body has to offer.
The practice of internal listening can show us where and how we have become unconscious (retreated from), where we are acting against our best interests (pain) and where we are overcompensating or protecting (gripping and contracting). We hold a more accurate picture of what a whole body is by knowing where we can clearly sense, while at the same time understanding that there are regions that remain unknown.
In the spirit of becoming a whole person – an embodied being – curiosity and inner sensing are key tools in the discovery of where we are fragmented. These tools show show us where the boundaries exist between what we can feel and where we cannot sense. This is precisely where the unconscious self lives within the human being. It dwells in the spaces, regions, layers and dimensions of cellular fabric that are carried within the skin bag but remain hidden from the sensing, conscious self.
