I keep hearing the words, “Don’t let go. Don’t ever dare to let go. Hold on tight as tight as you can.”
Why hold on tight, when the rest of the world is screaming and shouting to let go?
Those things we wish to drop and forget, those behaviors and battles we wish would vanish into thin air, those things are what set us free, that let us grow, that give us the kick we need to learn how to Be, and how to Love. All of our disproportionate, inadequate, unwanted thoughts and responses are our gifts. That’s why we have to see them, embrace them so we can know them, and then let them go.
So we must take a leap, and embrace what’s uncomfortable – so hard that it melts into our arms of Acceptance, Acknowledgement, Listening, and ultimately Loving. In those moments of embrace our shadows become our light, and our authenticity gets a chance to shine through the fog of our conditioning. It’s that Light we need to hold, high and steady.
Let’s evolve “letting go” to “embracing.”
Let’s trade “This is not mine” to “This dark, this light, this difficult, this beautiful – all mine. I choose to see and release what no longer serves.”
Let’s place the Trust where it needs to be, in our hearts.
There is nobody else here to react to what arises. We might as well respond with an embrace.
