Here is truth: money is power, and power enables us to do good things.
When idealists have money, they can deploy it to good, consciousness-raising activities and investments. The world gets better. But for many members of the yoga and wellness community, money is a taboo subject – something to rise above and withdraw from. But money is energy and it magnetizes according to our beliefs and vibrations.
If it’s your dream to make the world a better place, you owe it to yourself to make sure your mindfulness includes a vision of wealth and abundance. Here’s how you can start:
Step 1: Change Your Mind
Please stop thinking money is bad or hard. Stop being afraid to count up where you are and admit where you want to be. Stop thinking you can’t get paid to help the world, or you can’t get paid doing something you love. List 10 good reasons why you should have more money. Start with this one: you deserve to be taken care of.
Step 2: Find Your Role Models
There are examples everywhere in the global yoga community of teachers and healers who have turned their practice into an effective business, so they can earn a living by helping others. It is your right to do the same. Find successful role models and study their approach, and takes notes for your own success.
Step 3: Make Your Plan
No amount of chanting, ohming, praying or even manifesting will make this dream come true all by itself (though it will help!). You require alignment between the heart, head and the body! In the absence of a plan, much energy is wasted and worry so easily takes the helm. People underestimate the power of writing down “the number” and the plan for how they could get there.
Step 4: Keep Track, Keep Promises
Don’t let that mind wander! Here is where those spiritual practices of steady mindfulness come in handy. You have to adhere to your plan of action, daily. Keeping promises you make to yourself is how you build stamina, self-love, and personal integrity.
Step 5: Dare to Do Business
Many of you are dying to work for yourselves but you just don’t know the first thing about it. Educate yourself, start small with what you know, build on your skills, and step to the plate of entrepreneurship. The world needs more conscious commerce. The world needs more powerful, mindful leaders, and you deserve to be one of them.
