A Sacred Bond

by Kimberly Hise / lifestyle

My sacred place is with my twin Sister. We were one split into two, we began our journey together in the most sacred place of all the womb. When we are together a sense of peace and being at home surrounds us. Through childhood each milestone and memory was built around each other and our relationship. When I’m in her presence I feel protected, like we are in bubble together observing the world untouched by it.

Distance separates us as adults but our bond is even stronger as we raise our own families. My car turns into a sacred place if I’m on the phone hearing her voice. A simple text or a funny picture from her can make the world seem like everything will be OK. Checking in with each other becomes a daily ritual, we listen and console and laugh until our souls are recharged.

A year ago we created an instagram account together for fun, we didn’t realize we were creating a little virtual sacred space were we could collaborate and connect to each other. @ChinTwins has become our common ground were we can share and merge our ideas into one. It’s funny how a sacred place can pop up and create itself right were you need them.

I’ve learned to remain open and let things grow on their own while collaborating with Crissy. Not judging or labeling and letting things flow is the way we’ve kept our connection sacred. Not holding on to tightly and letting each other grow so that we can still have that sacred bond over the miles that separate us. We are still in that little bubble together looking out at the world untouched even though we’re not together. Our hearts can find each other somewhere in that unseen sacred place and beat at the same rhythm just like when we were in the womb.
